Ask yourself the following questions, and be sure to seek answers from your New Mexico realtor: has the land been properly surveyed? You don't want any nasty surprises when you come to build. If possible, get your architect or engineer to take a look at the land before you make a decision.

All New Mexico land for sale has wonderful, fresh clean air. But some areas are super-clean. If this is an issue with you, ask for advice from your agent. Access is another critical issue. Not everywhere has proper roads yet. If there is only a dirt road, what kind of condition is it in? Is there electricity? If not, how much will it cost to get connected? Having running water is not always a serious issue if the land you're buying has its own supply. But check what your water rights are, and don't forget to ask about a septic system too.
